Miranda Turner represents insurers in mass tort bankruptcies and hotly contested coverage litigation, advancing insurers’ interests on a wide variety of critical coverage questions such as allocation, contribution, exhaustion, and the duty to defend. She currently represents insurers in diocesan and related bankruptcies in New York, California, and Maryland arising out of sexual abuse.

Miranda also represents insurance companies in coverage litigation in multiple state and federal jurisdictions. She has been involved in some of the most notable large-scale insurance coverage disputes in the past several years, including liability for talc claims, COVID 19-related business interruption claims, claims arising out of sexual abuse, asbestos liability, construction defects, and environmental contamination.

Miranda has an active litigation practice, regularly handling matters having to do with key insurance issues, such as trigger, conditions to coverage, exclusions, allocation and contribution, and impairment and exhaustion of policy limits, as well as notice, scope of coverage, coverage for attorneys’ fee awards, rescission of policies, issues under claims-made policies, and third-party beneficiaries and settlement releases. She provides strategic advice and policy analysis regarding coverage, defenses to coverage, and emerging issues in the industry.

Miranda’s experience representing insurance clients in bankruptcy matters includes both Chapter 11 and Chapter 7. Miranda also has experience with regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and advice regarding disclosures and governance.
